Continuum is constantly searching for new opportunities in Oaxaca and has recently acquired, by staking, the Predilecta, Quatro Venados and Niño Perdido prospects, all covering vein-hosted, past-producing, modest size gold mines. As we say in our mission statement, we will focus our exploration efforts in areas that saw past gold and silver production, which, in almost all cases with our new acquisitions, have escaped previous exploration and diamond drilling. Surrounding the Natividad and San Jose deposits, we are continuing to consolidate larger land positions. Our objective is to use the information we are gathering from the existing mines to more thoroughly understand the geological potential in the vicinity of the deposits. At Natividad, for example, we have acquired a large land holding along the N-S strike of the vein system and to the east, covering highly-prospective ground which has never been carefully explored. Along the trend of the vein system, we have acquired several additional properties with the objective of exploring the entire trend in search of multiple deposits.
Similarly, near San Jose, we have acquired a significant ground position in the historic Taviche silver district, approximately 14 kilometers east of the mine. The properties which cover the Taviche district contain several past-producing underground mines, very similar in geologic setting to San Jose. We plan an extensive exploration program at Taviche, similar to that carried out at San Jose, to explore for a similar style of silver-gold mineralization. |
