The Lachiguiri project was discovered as part of an ongoing regional exploration project targeting potential gold and silver deposits throughout Oaxaca. The 5,000 hectare property is wholly owned by Continuum, and is 140 kilometers southeast of the city of Oaxaca.
At Lachiguiri, highly anomalous lead, zinc and silver occur in limestone replacement bodies along a strike length of approximately 4 kilometers. Old hand-dug pits through the alluvial cover allowed sampling of the sulphide bodies, returning values up to 3.69 gpt Au, 23.5% Pb, 7.16% Zn and 1,500 gpt Ag. Large areas of intense silicification of the carbonate rocks around prominent pebble dykes are associated with the mineralization. The Lachiguiri mineralization resembles the carbonate replacement deposits of the Mexican Altiplano.
We plan systematic mapping, sampling, and eventually diamond drilling, either with a joint venture partner or on our own.
